I guess I will do v1.12 soon. Sounds like it will 2700+ Elo.

Thank you for running these tests. I hope it will be 2700+, but when I develop I only run self tests with very short time controls, so it is possible that there are surprises when testing with other engines at longer time controls.

Yes. Your testing method is the most efficent way, but it can sometimes lead to undesired consequences. I hope that is not the case

Peter,

My wife says that I am blind sometimes, and perhaps she is right. I can not find the .jar file. Which folder is it in?

CuckooChess 1.12 is now released and can be downloaded from my web page: http://web.comhem.se/petero2home/javachess/index.html

Version 1.12 scores about 59.3% (+61 ELO according to bayeselo) vs version 1.11 at fast time controls. Hopefully it scores better also when playing other opponents.

The changelog is here: http://web.comhem.se/petero2home/javach ... ngeLog.txt
Many thanks Peter.

Best,
Gerold.

In the download section on my web page, there is a link to the jar file. Here is a direct link: http://web.comhem.se/petero2home/javach ... koo112.jar

Hopefully Jim will compile a windows exe soon.
Are you avoiding the java version because of engine speed ?
No, I'm just not that technically adept.
Under ChessGUI, you need only the jar file.
Rename it to "Cuckoo 112.jar" without the quotes.
Install as UCI2+java engine. It needs "uci" as command line option.

If java is not jet installed on your PC, you will need
http://www.java.com/en/download/inc/win ... de_xpi.jsp
Thanks Matthias. I'll give it a go. Guess I could try the same thing with Arabian Knight. 8-)

Yes. I set "LogicalProcessorsCount = 1" in ArabianKnight.config.
Arabian Knight needs "xboard" on command line.

ChessGUI appends " java" to java engine names. That is necessary.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

What I mean is, which folder inside the zip file does the .jar file reside? I do not see it in any of these folders.

All this will be good, but if I download JA's compile, I will get the same strength I would think- and I can load that way in 15 or 20 seconds. Why would I choose an alternate method that was more difficult to set up to begin with? The logic escapes me- what am I overlooking?

You get to know how to run java chess engines for which there are no JA compiles.
There are many of them out there.

Best,
Matthias.
