You seam to be using (by your own definition) pirated software for the analysis.Peter Skinner wrote:[d]5r2/8/p2Rpk2/5p2/8/2P4P/PP4P1/6K1 b - - 0 4
Queens are gone, and here is some analysis from Houdini 1.5a:

Robert Houdart has stated Houdini contains zero copyrighted code. Do you have evidence to refute that?Milos wrote:You seam to be using (by your own definition) pirated software for the analysis.Peter Skinner wrote:[d]5r2/8/p2Rpk2/5p2/8/2P4P/PP4P1/6K1 b - - 0 4

Here is little wiki definition for you.
I didn't realize you are actually protecting Houdart's work. In that case I'm apologizing.Peter Skinner wrote:Robert Houdart has stated Houdini contains zero copyrighted code. Do you have evidence to refute that?
He is selling a commercial product that is being pirated like wildfire. Until proven that he is a clone, does he not deserve the very same protections as other commercial authors have and have received in the past?
I still remove pirated links to Rybka 4. No one has proven that it contains any copyrighted code.
When I "scrape" file sharing sites I am removing links to pirated software. There are various ways that files are detected for removal, but I won't go into that here. Obviously asking for the md5 signatures is one method of detection.Milos wrote:I didn't realize you are actually protecting Houdart's work. However, most of the pirates use password protected archives which means a lot of digging through cracking sites until you find the actual password the works. Quite a cumbersome work imo.Peter Skinner wrote:The old method of looking up file names was useless as something could be renamed to anything else. Now there are much more advanced methods of doing look ups, where the file name itself is meaningless. Even a file that is hex edited can be found, or one that is zipped, rared, re-zipped, and tared.
There are ways around even that. I remove hundreds of links to pirated chess materials weekly with password protected files. They really just make it harder for their user base to open.
