Step 4 completed.

Critter_1.4_64bit_sse4 62.0/100
0=000101=01=11===11011=110001011101=1=1=1=0=11111010=01=====1==000==1011=111=11=1=1=1==1=1=1111=====

How many games did Critter lose against Houdini 1.5a in last 30 games? ;)

I don't know if Mr. Vida will read this. I want to write some considerations. I had no time to watch the games, but numbers are saying us strategy=depth + resolve score drops=off is the best setting for running these kind of matches. Or, at least, it seems the most reliable.

After 100 full games, session file gets about 5% full, meaning it'd be 100% full after about 2000 games. One could raise file size, but I guess that could lower engine performance. To store pre-ending and ending positions is useless for learning purposes. Maybe, an UCI option which limits the number of plies of keeping learning active from a start position could help in keeping free space in the session file for more games.

I hope this test has been of some interest. :)

:lol: Maestro , the whole history of computers and computer chess is presented in my bunker ! I have even a very old PC working ( perfectly) with my dear 16 bit Windows 3.11 and many goodies ! :lol: !

Here is the old Romanian ICE Felix from 1986:

Latest versions were close to the IBM PC features: 4.77 MHz 8088, 256 to 640 KB of RAM and an optional 20 MB hard disk.

Can you imagine , Dear Maestro Rodolfo , that my Felix is still working !
