Or maybe, directly compiling either your source code or your byte code into a native exe?

I'm using Launch4j that Jim suggested - aren't they the same thing? Also, I looked at gcj and it seems there would be quite a learning curve since I'm not familiar with gcc. It's not a compiler, but it incapsulates the jvm and the jar into an exe file...
