What you've described is practically a self-evident truth to me and the whole basis of my involvement in computer chess for the past nine years. Yes, of course more games = more playing strength. It's undeniable. Anyone who says otherwise just doesn't know what they're talking about. Of course, empiricism alone isn't the answer to everything but it's definitely a good start.
