However, authors can always compile " to the old hardware"with hardware new.
It is harder compile "the new hardware"with old hardware.
Versions 64 bits vs 32 bits, ect.
It's something I do not understand.

Non-popcount compile

Note from the author:

I just added a 64-bit executable that does not use "popcount" instruction. This should work on any 64-bit CPU.
