While I agree that some of these gambits are unsound, it surely isn't 50%. The book has been tested quite thoroughly and in almost all gambits I saw white wins, black wins and draws.

That the Traxler is losing, is incorrect. Here is a Komodo-Stockfish game (tempo game in 30), in which SF came close to a draw:

[Result "1-0"]

Noomen GAMBIT BOOK: UPDATE

Post by Jeroen »

Dear chess friends,

There is an update of the GambitLines.ctg book, with a few important changes:

1. Huge improvement in the Traxler gambit
2. Priority change in the Frankenstein-Dracula gambit
3. Dubious line in the Belgrade gambit has been switched off

You can download the new version over here:

www.top-5000.nl/dl/GambitLines.rar

For those who prefer testsets for engine-engine testing, I am going to make two new gambit suites:

A) A small set with 30 sharp gambits
B) A big set with most gambits from GambitLines.ctg

Enjoy!

Hi Jeroen,

I downloaded it again but it seems to be the same as before.
Your are right! the same as before...

GambitLines.ctg 64,1 MB (67.239.936 bytes)

update: 64,1 MB (67.239.936 bytes)

Noomen Logic maybe?

FWIW, the ctg file size is the same, but the hash of the file is different.

Hi Gabor,

Only a few important priority changes in the new version, hence the file size is the same.
