Hi Pedro,

DanaSah 6.1 crashed during its first game for me under ChessGUI.
Unfortunately I don't have the debug file for you.

Graham.

xboard or uci?

I have not tried chessGUI because on my computer with Windows 10 is not going well. But it is strange crash, I do not usually have it in other GUI.

If this is uci version and the problem was to go the first game to the second, then the problem can be solved by disabling the parameter UCI_has_ucinewgame_command in engine options (default is on). But for me it would be strange that chessGUI did not have the command. I will try to do this automatic in the next version to avoid confusing the user.

It is preferable not to use danasah 6.1 for rating lists, at this time I'm looking to be stable.

I was using DanaSah as a UCI engine and it was midway through a game.

Okay - will wait for an official release if you prefer. :)

That's correct. Actually setting option.Ponder to false or true doesn't really do anything. By default pondering is OFF for UCI engines but it can be enabled by adding "ponder" to engine parameters, eg. "-engine conf=stockfish tc=40+1 ponder".

After being looking for problems with protocols, the problem was with access to Scorpio bitbases, for this reason I had bad results if I used the bitbases with any of the engines. Gabor possibly in his test was not using it.

I solved this problem and now you can also use for bitbases 6 men Scorpio (Recommended to use Egbb Probe 4.1) . It is also possible to simultaneously use gaviota tablebases.

I have also seen the problem with the uci version and chessGUI as said Graham. This problem is because they are loaded for bitbases Scorpio (not the same problem as mentioned above), this seems to only happen with the version uci and ChessGUI, difficult to understand and solve without help from Matthias. So with chessGUI version suggests using winboard if you want to use bitbases. I managed to run chessGUI with compatibility for Windows 8 and in future versions will more probes.

Here it is version 6.2, again considered as a beta no need test for rating lists. No versions for Android, previous to not use bitbases on Android y they had no problems.

Version normal and version limit strength:

Games with cutechess-cli 40/30 (40 moves in 30 sec).

danasah 5.07 (5 men scorpio)
danasah 6.2 xboard (5 men scorpio + 5 men gaviota)
danasah 6.2 uci (5 men gaviota, scorpio egbb on uci and cutechess give problems as in chessGUI)

  17 Popochin 3.2 -308 71 71 120 12% 13 14%
The difference not think it is in the use of gaviota tablebases, without bitbases or tablebases surely the result could be the same.

Perhaps with a time control the biggest difference could be lower.
