Here is a link to the relevant game and I do not find the mistake of white a bad blunder by the GM and I guess many human players will do the same mistake.
You can see the explanation that there is a rule that usually if both sides promote the side that promote with check is going to win
(I can add at least not lose because of some perpetual check)
Expecting GM's to find that the position is an exception in time trouble is not fair.
Weak engines have no problem because they are not programmed to be afraid to lose from the fact that the opponent promote with check.
I am sure you can find positions when they blunder because of this reason together with search that is not deep enough.
Any 2700 t0 2750 engine would have won with White GM Vidit Vs GM Anish

Wouldn't that be an interesting idea, if we really wanted engines to play more human like!? Program them to fear.

If you mean 'World Champion' (of chess...as in Lasker, Capa, etc), the odds are against it. Just as they are against Alireza Firouzja whom half the world seems to want to anoint.Chessqueen wrote: ↑Sun Jun 27, 2021 6:39 pm

From India you have a lot of young talents NOT only GM Gukesh, but also GM Nihal GM Leon and GM Praggnanandhaa, Therefore, in another 5 to 6 years one of those will challenge Carlsen https://chessbase.in/Cornfed wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 2:07 amIf you mean 'World Champion' (of chess...as in Lasker, Capa, etc), the odds are against it.
