A different scoring system could be used to discourage draws, weighing wins more, with an extra bonus for Black wins.

Or you could...just play real, mano-y-mono, use your own brain chess. Mistakes big and small will surely follow and the better player will win in the end. 8-)

Yes, if you are so pessimistic about everything, it no longer makes sense for you to be interested in computer chess. I wouldn't read such forums if I were you. :!:

I also write about it on my homepage, in German.

It's been tried, and had little to no effect (about 5 years ago). A change in the draw rules would be needed, but Arno was investigating that and no modification has been introduced.

Arno can introduce the system that a win gets 3 points and draw only 1 point... this way more people will be inclined to play for a win... :) :)

I don't have a dog in the hunt but consider that the logical outcome of a good game is a draw...factor in this stuff which is so MUCH MORE drawish due to computers/etc....and consider this option:

A Win = 1 and both draw and loss count for NOTHING at all: 0
This lets 'both players' in a game try for a win.

OR

Adjust however you want to award points...but for the ending place prize - let THAT account for a fraction of the prize fund with the balance being awarded ONLY to wins. It's certainly possible that the winner would accumulate the most wins still...but it gives everyone something to shoot for in every game.

I think that the qualification should be to beat latest stockfish version with no book and good hardware with time control of 60+30

I believe most people are going to fail this qualification step even if they get 10 games to try with white.

I could, and I do. :) This is just about centaur chess, which is facing draw death...
By the way, I do enjoy centaur chess against weaker, beatable engines.
