I can think of a multitude of positions/openings that are both unbalanced AND interesting/attractive.
These are not mutually exclusive concepts, and if it leads away from draw death, so much the better!

Do you have some examples?
Fat Titz by Stockfish, the engine with the bodaciously big net. Remember: size matters. If you want to learn more about this engine just google for "Fat Titz".

Really? Seriously? Instead of me posting about a multitude of Benonis, Dragons and KIDs, etc., just think of most of the ECO, but don't forget to deselect some of the overly drawish lines. :) Don't tell me you can't imagine anything but forced draws. :)

What I think we need would be good rules to select openings that are varied and not drawish but not losing either at the highest level. Anyone can make up a list of openings that he thinks would fit the bill, but that would just lead to interminable arguments. Some easily understood, clear-cut rules for opening selection would be ideal. For example, "The five hundred most popular eight ply sequences (from some standard database of grandmaster/2500+ FIDE games) that have less than 30% draws". The specific numbers aren't so important, the idea is to remove personal preference from the choice while still providing variety, reasonable winning chances, and openings seen often in human GM games. But the numbers have to be such that even in Stockfish vs Dragon matches the draw percentage won't be more than perhaps 75% or so. Then everyone could use these same openings for rating lists and tournaments with no question of favoritism or being too arbitrary.
