I'm not sure why everyone seems to have so many issues. I opened Fritz 18, and it prompted my that an update was available. I accepted, and it installed. The new engine was there. In fact, when I opened Chessbase 16, the new engine was listed there as well. I did nothing special.
Same here (Berlin, Germany). Worked without any problems: Fritz 18 GUI updated to version 6, when I started it. Then Fritz 18 nnue was installed.
Free major engine-update and engine not copy-protected. You can copy the engine to any new folder or new machine.
Very nice ChessBase!
The nnue-net must be very small, because the engine-file is only 2.1 MByte...and the old Fritz 18 engine is 1.1 MByte in size.
Although a little off topic but nonetheless when I bought Fritz 18 i got several Fritz engines also named Fritz18 Ginko among others(and some old Fritz 13 and another Morsch version) but when reinstalling from the same binaries now I only have 1 Fritz18popcount engine
Did someone else experience that also ?

Maybe you copied your stockfish commits from someone else too?
I will look into that.
Thank you, I got the update yesterday. Funny thing is I did not see it in the change log, so I was not aware of it.

Has anyone else noticed after upgrading to version 6 (Fritz 18 Neuronal) under file > activate (both activate and update program are both greyed out? The only one that works is "deactivate".
What I'd like most of all for the next one GUI (Fritz or cb- database):
A feature to make existing nets (even for Fritz- NNUE only) learn from game- (or .epd)- collections. Guess that might be a rather small script or even a batch- file only to be written and implemented, wasn't it?
That would sell very well for sure, especially if it would work with SF- NNUE too

Where is the new engine? In what folder?
