I am going to send this to CB support to see what they say.
That was the error that I had.

Here is what they told me:

Please run the repair function of the program and then run the update again.

How does repairing work? When you start the Uninstall Programs dialog in the Control Panel.

Control Panel window, click on "Programs". Next, click on "Programs and Features".

You should now see a list of all desktop programs that are currently installed on your computer. Scroll through the list and select the program you want to repair. If this feature is available for that program (not all programs support it), you will see a "Repair" button, near the top of the list. Click on the button.

After clicking "Repair", Windows should do the rest and quietly repair the affected program. If you are presented with nothing else, follow the dialog boxes until it is completed.

This should fix the problem.

The option to repair a program can be found in the Windows Control Panel under "Uninstall programs".

If not then you should uninstall the program, reinstall it and then run the update again.

There is no repair function for this program so they want you to reinstall the whole thing all over again. I just did it and no repair came up which I figured would happen. THEY even state, "If this feature is available for that program (not all programs support it)" It's a cookie cutter answer. It's incompetent programing. So over the weekend I will have to reinstall it and try to update it again.

NOT all programs support it so why are you telling me to repair CB16? Cause basically the answer is to remove and reinstall it and then it will work!

I take all this back. I did not realize that you had to hover over the program in the uninstall feature of Windows to see the repair. I went over CB16 and the repair feature was there so that could have worked. Sorry CB.

I did not try that as I did not see it until after I reinstalled it. I did not know you had to hover over the program to see the repair option. Not all programs have it. CB told me this but I skipped that part. It probably will work but that was my mistake. I'm a guy. We don't read all the instructions, heehee.

Yes...the benefits of being 'a guy' - we are exempt from trivialities, we 'just know' what to do. I had the same thing happen really...

Are you using the cracked version of CB16?
If so that would explain the errors you are getting... :)

My favourite part is when running engine matches. Which ever side is to move gets highlighted in green :)

I don't know about him, but mine was brought straight from Chessbase (I've spent a lot of $$ with them over the years)...and I got the very same message.
