What precisely is biased? It looks rather milquetoast to me.

PS: I think if they did ban Carlsen, that Chess.com would become the new governing body that would compete with FIDE.

Interesting point of view ... never thought of that. FIDE is basically telling Chess.com that they have to coordinate and help them with the anti cheating systems. Not sure Chess.com would agree to that as much of what they do is secret as they don't want to divulge information that would help possible cheaters use that as a White Paper on how to circumvent the cheating protocols. But it seems that chess is big money these days and the internet tournament prize money is increasing to a point where it easily overtakes OTB tournaments. Maybe Chess.com does want to overtake FIDE. There are some very shady characters that sometimes are involved with FIDE and heading FIDE. Also FIDE has sometimes struggled to attract good sponsors.

Yeah, I was thinking about when Kasparov broke away from FIDE and tried to start the PCA some years ago when I added that. I think Chess.com and even Chess24 already has more meat on their bones to be successful at it if they wanted to make a go of it and had the players support.M ANSARI wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 8:20 pm

1. They did not put any 'ban' on Hou Yifan and are unlikely to here. Precedence? Of course, Magnus has gone beyond what Hou did...and is really accusing someone of cheating, while, apparently, offering no evidence. So, maybe they are saying: 'put up or else'...
2. Chess.com is not going to want that responsibility. That said....I watched Danny Rensch and Naka stream last Thursdays football game and Danny did indicate he is stressed right now and also mentioned being on the phone with his lawyers A LOT over the past few days. Naka (elsewhere) indicated he has been threatened with lawsuits.

From what I have heard, the 'scanners' the St. Louis tourney used were...not up-to-snuff. The most recent Candidates tourney had much better equipment. St. Louis needs to step up their game!Paloma wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 11:56 pm Statement Carlsen on Twitter:
