I wrote C code for the geophysics dept at UW when I was in college, The memory space was tiny
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.

PS: The chess program running on the DEC machines at the time was Richard Greenblatt's Mac Hack, but they were not running Unix where I was - TOPS 20 OS on the mainframe, not sure about the PDP-11.
