In opposition to the other Graham :) I will reiterate what a huge advancement this is over previous chess playing robots.

Personally, I lost interest in playing strength when the computers surpassed the top human (I took a keen interest in neural networks conferring a big ELO boost - breaking the previous doctrine that depth and NPS are everything, and I follow general trends, but I don't download strong engines like Stockfish), so this aspect of it has no appeal to me. The AI advancement here though is still very exciting: the robotics are multiple orders of magnitude better than previous chess robotics - and robotics are a VERY important part of AI: we want them DOING as well as thinking!

This robot could have a night out at the local chess club!

More advanced, stronger and probably more reliable too. :)

Good news: Senserobot can be seen at the IFA (Internationale Funkaustellung Berlin) in Berlin !!!

IFA is the world’s largest home & consumer tech event – where Samsung, LG, Sony, Bosch, Miele, TCL, Hisense and many more global leaders join innovators and visitors to shape what’s next.

September 5th-9th, 2025, Berlin

I made a small subsite about the Senserobot on my website. Containing links to videos and reviews.

it makes annoying movements with it's elbow;
even when making a move on it's own side, the robot 'elbow' moves
over the other side of the board, which is intimidating.

Under Fide rules, such annoying behaviour/ 'intimidation' is not allowed
:wink:

Once that's improved, the the chess board imo also could (should)
be increased a bit in size.

PS as for the ugly bot face, intimidating as well, almost star wars style;
optionally i suggest you can let it display 3d heads of some known GM's
Or weaker players; any weak levels playing in human style ? then they can
send one to me for evaluation and i'll post here a nice (or not so nice) review;

:)

Confused: at 3:41 when the human player stands up, why can't the robot move his king to D7? What have I missed?

Is it perpetual? Qc6+, Qa8+, Qc6+ etc. I can't understand what they are saying but maybe they agreed a draw?

There's an even better video, but I couldn't find it. I think the robot is even bigger and the human flinches everytime it moves because it looks like it's about to whack him! :D
