Bxc6 is a no brainer.

So much so I am not sure we need a vote but best is to let others have their say.

Are you sure that thing is not trying to help us win?

(James Kingston for the Open btw 100/1)

Bad luck Steve.

Thanks for the "game".
Why did they quit in the opening of the game. What a shame.

Gerold.
He took his ball and went home Gerold.

I think he is in a huff.

Maybe the Rybka team would be interested in playing us.
Maybe they could give us champs a better game. :) :) :) .

Best,

What is Steve B complaining about?

(However, I think there WAS pressure on white, and that his last move was rather generous. Perhaps black is already equal, even without a pawn).

A great shame, the match vs Steve's dedicated unit was great fun to follow ! I love to see these old dedicated units in action

the purpose of the game was to stir up some interest for a forum match and do try to cover different aspects of correspondence play
the way things have developed i simply lost all interest in the Practice game and for me personally all interest in the match( if it even takes place)
having said that..the only right thing to do was resign ..so i did

This practice game was going really well - informal, friendly, and lots of fun. I know now that the real thing just was never going to be like that, could never be like that.

I hope somehow you can do a match like this again, dedicated vs some forum, maybe Hiarcs if you weren't happy here. And to encourage the opponents *not* to use engines for analysis, but their own chess skills (or in my cases, total lack thereof). So, dedicated vs forum brains !!

i have no problem playing a match here
but i doubt there will be much interest in just one of my dedicated computers playing a game here..remember the game started out as an odds game to get us out of book early and into the meat of correspondence play
that wouldn't really be fair or acceptable in a normal game and to start out from the normal position the dedicated would get out-booked from the getgo

but again i appreciate the idea Ray

I hadn't been clear what this game was about. I think it is obvious that any dedicated should be vs brains and not vs rybkas and the like.

wel there still seems to be some interest in completing this game which is a bit of surprise to me
if there is still some interest i can continue to play
i still have the position set up on my trusty Tasc with a move ready to go
no Captains ..no Official teams ..just the overall CCC membership voting
Just a game of chess..
after 4-5 votes come in if there is a consensus i would consider that as the move
sound reasonable?
