You make it sound like I was deliberately suppressing it, or that I ever had any other opinion. I assure you neither is true.
Graham Banks wrote:Because you've admitted to knowing that Ippo and Robbo are based on Rybka code, do you think it's right that CCC should be allowing the sharing of ideas about it or links to it?
I didn't press the mods when they decided to treat it as legally questionable. I won't now. If they change their minds again, I still won't.

Is it right? That's debatable, and I can swing either way on it. Fact is it's going to happen regardless. The sites who blacklist robbo are simply going to get less traffic and interest over time.
At least you're honest and respectful in expressing your views. :)

Cheers,
Graham.

I think that is the point! So many people such as yourself seem to be confirming that Robbo is a clone. Therefore it and it's "engineers" should not be validated on these types of sites.

If enough people would stand up against piracy instead of clamoring to download something just because it is there, then eventually Robbo (or whoever else does this kind of thing) would go away.

Instead everyone starts to validate their need for the pirated engine with rather weak "gray area" ethical arguments that are really nothing more then rationalizations.

I will stick with commercial engines and other honourable free engines.

It's not the Rybka that we all know, but it is Rybka. It is not Rybka 3, despite what Vas said.
You've either been sucked in or you're part of the "rotten army".
I hope it's not the latter.
And by the way, what authors? Who are "they"?

Cheers,
Graham.
1.Yes-it's an extraterrestrial version of Rybka 5 !
2.The authors are anonimous otherwise they will be beheaded in a central plaza somewhere near Australia island - being anti commercial aliens !
3.Graham Banks & co try to save the commercial computer chess ! Money from chess ! This is the real problem ! The rest is theory !
"They " are anti they !

PS: only theory ! I'm retired !
I recall that your last post here was on October 30th and contained the following:

To moderation : PLEASE DELETE FOR ETERNITY MY ACCOUNT ON CCC . THE REST OF MY LIFE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS FORUM.EVEN THE COMPUTER CHESS BECOMES FOR ME A GREAT EYESORE. REST FOR ME THE HUMAN CHESS, THE HISTORY, THE MUSIC & A LOT OF OTHERS PLEASURES .

Right !

And why the mods don't respect my wish ?
Your responses to me look like the childish Clare Marie posts !

Perhaps you should ask the mods for a third time. You might get lucky. You could take a few others with you too if you like.

Well, to be precise a new program that was clearly made by decompiling Rybka 3 and putting it back together with changes to the evaluation function published its source code. So not the entire R3 code is public, but most of it other than the exact evaluation function is. The "author" does not publicly admit that his program was taken from R3, but Vas has said so and I can tell you that the similarities are so overwhelming that any claim to the contrary is a joke.
But that is excellent news! Just show me some of those overwhelming similarities. I'd be totally satisfied knowing Ippolit is a Rybka clone, I find the current situation awkward.

PS. I am a bit sceptic about Larry's words. How can the similarities be overwhelming for him when all he did was listen to what Vas said to him.
Don't even bother to comment on Rybka team members Gabor....soon they'll vanish away from the top computer chess scene with their lies and speculations....it's simple physics....

How do you account for the views of other respected programmers such as Gian-Carlo Pascutto, Don Dailey, Andres Valverdes (plus other programmers who now include Eric Mullins) when they say that they believe it to be a Rybka clone also?
And why would other forums including the Hiarcs forum ban links?
We can't live in cloud-cuckoo land in CCC forever. Links should be banned.
I challenge other programmers who believe Robbo to be a clone to step forward and say so.

The Robbo lie is almost over Wael. Accept it.
I know you're angry about not getting the promised Rybka 3+, but badmouthing Vas and supporting the cloning of a commercial engine is not the way to get revenge.

Cheers,
Graham.

Graham,

I know the music. Slobo & my Serbian friends ( Alex Naumov add in ??? ). Be serious please. I'm a 60 years old man not a child. I'm not interested yet in my account on this forum .But if it still exists I'll post - maybe-sometimes.
Otherwise some opposite opinions aren't a crime. Isn't it ?

A good reply Silvian. :)
I have nothing against Alex Naumov. Is there a good reason that I should have? I currently get on very well with him.

Cheers,
Graham.

PS - there's nothing wrong with being Serbian.
