This confirms that only Houdini is better than Rybka 4.1 - not much progress in 2 years

Re: Round 49
Also Critter results are poor, compared to both CCRL and CEGT lists it seems that it doesn't utilize many cores too well or maybe it's just bad luck due to insufficient amounts of games. Whatever the reason is, Critter should be strong at least like Stockfish or Rybka. What is your opinion guys ?Jouni wrote:This confirms that only Houdini is better than Rybka 4.1 - not much progress in 2 years

True, Critter has a LOS of some 10% against Stockfish here, but it's higher on rating lists. RobboLito also performs badly, the level of Hiarcs and Junior.chessmann wrote:Also Critter results are poor, compared to both CCRL and CEGT lists it seems that it doesn't utilize many cores too well or maybe it's just bad luck due to insufficient amounts of games. on CEGT 40/120 Stockfish 2.2.2 is just 13 ELO points behind Critter 1.6 , while on CEGT 40/20pb=on 44 ELO points

Probably a combination of both things that you mentioned, but more so the fact that it's a one off tournament with a limited number of games.chessmann wrote:Also Critter results are poor, compared to both CCRL and CEGT lists it seems that it doesn't utilize many cores too well or maybe it's just bad luck due to insufficient amounts of games. Not so few games, you should be proud of your 8-core tournament.Graham Banks wrote:Probably a combination of both things that you mentioned, but more so the fact that it's a one off tournament with a limited number of games.chessmann wrote:Also Critter results are poor, compared to both CCRL and CEGT lists it seems that it doesn't utilize many cores too well or maybe it's just bad luck due to insufficient amounts of games.
