Even if GM Nepo automatically qualify for the next candidate, I truly believe that GM Nepo will never ever become World Chess Champion even if Something happens to Carlsen, and another qualification is needed to determine the Next World Champion.

For those who voted for GM Nepo to win, since none of you specified, he was the biggest winner of the two players that without too much effort won 1.5 million by simply drawing 7 games = to $214,285.72 per draw.

Nepo only got to the WCC because the Candidates was delayed an year due to coronavirus. He lost to MVL on game 7 before the Candidates was delayed and likely would have tilted and gone on a large losing streak there and then if the Candidates hadn't been delayed at all.

Depends on the metric. If we're just going by the lopsided score, then definitely not.
Lasker won a couple of his matches with +8 -0 and just a few draws (Marshall and Janowsky).
Even in recent history it's barely worse by score than Carlsen-Anand,which was +3 -0 =7 (just 12 games instead of 14).
If we go by quality of play, maybe in recent history, but definitely not "worst ever" without qualifications. Some of the old matches were really, really bad.

Probably one of the weaker player in the last 50 years to ever challenge a World Chess Champion was GM Boris Gelfand, but he performed much much better than GM Nepo did, since GM Gelfand nearly defeated GM Viswanathan Anand for the world title in 2012 but lost in rapid playoff games.MonteCarlo wrote: ↑Fri Dec 10, 2021 6:52 pmDepends on the metric. Carlsen was aided by mistakes on Nepo's part. At this level, managing your emotions, keeping your concentration and not succumbing to nerves is really as important as your preparation and skill. Not everyone can handle the pressure. But also, Carlsen is very, very good.

Instead,
would be interesting a match Carlsen - Stockfish running on TCEC hardware with same TC and rules (at least, no tactical blunders

That is wishful thinking, but if you can find a sponsor that guarantee Carlsen at least 3.5 million for winning and 1.5 for losing, playing Odds like a pawn or 2 pawn Odds, I would not think that Carlsen would refuse it, and at standard time control I would put my Money on Carlsen. This is a small xample with GM Nakamura playing fast with the losing position of game 8 against Stockfish

Google, Amazon, Meta (to launch metaverse), Tesla (to launch Teslabot), Xiaomi and Samsung would have enough money and sponsoring interests to pay Carlsen to accept this match, like IBM in 1996 against Kasparov...Chessqueen wrote: ↑Fri Dec 10, 2021 9:09 pmThat is wishful thinking, but if you can find a sponsor that guarantee Carlsen at least 3.5 million for winning and 1.5 for losing, playing Odds like a pawn or 2 pawn Odds, I would not think that Carlsen would refuse it, and at standard time control I would put my Money on Carlsen.
