Hi again.

Now, a recap of the challenge.

It lasted five rounds in total, but only Komodo without the h1 rook lasted more than two rounds.
The results (all from my perspective)

Crafty, a1 rook: 1/2, 1
Komodo, h1 rook: 0, 1/2, 0, 0, 1
Lc0, a1 rook: 0, 1
Stockfish, h1 rook: 0, 1
Crafty, h1 rook: 1
Komodo, a1 rook: 0, 1
Lc0, h1 rook: 1
Stockfish, a1 rook: 1

I dropped 7 points in 16 games.
Taking the a1 rook: 2.5 dropped points in 7 games.
Taking the h1 rook: 4.5 dropped points in 9 games.
Against Crafty: 0.5 dropped points in 3 games.
Against Komodo: 4.5 dropped points in 7 games.
Against Lc0: 1 dropped point in 3 games.
Against Stockfish: 1 dropped point in 3 games.

Next, I will play with two minor pieces handicap.

My original intention was to take only one minor piece.
However, while I believe that I would eventually win the games, the whole challenge (one minor piece handicap) can easily go over 20 rounds and over 100 games. I do not want to devote so much time to it.

Being two minor pieces up, I think I can win in relatively few rounds.
I will begin with two bishops.
Then, I will follow with two knights.
Finally, knight and bishop.

I plan to use the same settings I used for this rook odds challenge, unless I get some specific recommendation.

Just as a reminder, all the default settings except for the following:
All the engines with ponder on.
Crafty with resign = 327.65
Komodo with contempt = 150

Greetings.

You should score about 80%, two minors are a much bigger handicap than a rook.
Komodo rules!

Hi.

I agree that it is a much bigger handicap.
It is not only more material.
From the initial position, the minor pieces can join the battle quite quickly.
But the rook takes several moves before its presence can be actually felt.

With the two minors, the engine has a lot less moves to cause trouble before the extra material is active.

Greetings.
