What do you think then Jaimes?

Qa5+ or something else?

I would automatically play Be7 here.
Are we waiting to develop/castle only after the game ?

Matthias.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

I was wanting Qa5+ to see if would play c3. If it did we could equalise with Rb8. I guess we might get Bd2 although.

Surely we would castle kingside soon anyway. Do you think it has to be done asap?

We cannot launch any effective attacks till we have castled.
Rook H8 is not yet a rook.

Well I vote ...Qa5 with the idea of Bd2 Qb6 QxQ axb6 dumping us into an awful endgame where we have some mild drawing chances. My second choice is ...Be7 with the idea of shuffling around aimlessly hoping the opponent does something really dumb.

Oh no! Gerold might be an experienced player, and maybe should be trusted.
I also see the sense in keeping some control on the d6 square. But if White castles queenside, then I also have an interest in the bishop being fianchettoed, against it, going through the pawn on e5.
So a decision on e7 or not may not be urgent this move, so I will vote Qa5+ with intention of dropping back after Bd2 with Qc7.

It would not lose a tempo.

Oh, ALL right then!
Qc7 straight!

I vote Qc7.

(If anyone wants to change to this, do it quick! Be7 will not run away yet)

If the favored moves are Qa5 or Be7 i go with Be7.
Qa5+ runs into Bd2 and now Qb6 as suggested by Sam and defend the endgame or Qc7 as suggested by S Taylor.

So Be7, 0-0-0, 0-0 and as Gloria Gaynor song: I will survive
