And they both report a mate in 7 that does not exist on plies 11 and 13 as it happens.

One simple question:
How many probabilities has this to happen if 2 monozygotic twins when they grow up and become great minds, program independently 2 engines?
To have in so many positions the same evaluation or evaluation difference that is steady?
0.000000000001% perhaps?

And how many probabilities to have in such a position a mate bug where both engines show a mate in 7 where a mate in 7 does not exist and they believe it is a mate in a 7 due to a bug.

I am not a programer, but I see a lot of differences in some of my test-positions. See here:

I don't know if Strelka is a clone.
But if you take the code of an engine and make small changes there will be many positions where the behavior(patterns on evaluations) would be exactly the same, but there will be much more positions where the behavior would be different.
If you take 2 completely independent programs then the probability to find positions that will have a pattern in many plies but for all the positions too, it is almost zero....

Note that fruit2.1 has no bug here.

It see Kd2 mate in 7 against white first and Kd2 is really mate in 7 against white.

Kd2 is not the best move and fruit changes it's mind to Ke2 that allows black only mate in 8
