Oops, sorry for misspelling your name, Sherif!

I personally don't care whether my program plays in the tournament, and the only potential reason for me to decline the request is if a lot of participants and spectators are annoyed by programs with non-author operators.

Therefore, I've created this poll. If the majority votes against non-author operators, I'll advice the user who contacted me not to use my program in the CCT.

Tord,

There is no problem with entering Glaurung in the tournament with a _knowledgable_ user.

It is very important they know how to setup your program, run it, and make changes if need be.

If an author can not participate due to any number of reasons, I would encourage them to get an operator. The tournament is fun and quite a learning experience.

I would prefer if the author can be online as well so that they can participate as well in the conversations (which I happen to like the most year after year), but if it can't be done I would rather the engine play.

The more participants, the better the tournament. For the authors, I prefer other authors be present. Some don't care, some do. I can't please everyone.

From the postings in this thread, it looks like most would prefer the program there regardless.

Personally I would love to see Glaurung there. :)

Pete, all i know is you run a tournament the way it should be run. Lots of folks could take lessons from you. I always look forward to your events. There may be some- but i never hear about any bickering and griping with the ones you run. You should be commended by all for your efforts.

Best as Always,

Best as Always,
Thanks George.

I try to make it a fun tournament, not just for the participants, but for me as well. :)
