( you know the one where white chases the bishopt to h7 with the h pawn and then usually cassles long) the king lost to rybka, ruffian, spite 1.2 fruit, and naum, and drew against shredder (5-1-0). It got killed. Basically, it kept castling short, right into whites pawn storm. I am not so sure the king is strong on king safety.

You could well be correct.
Cock obviously agrees, because his most successful settings to date have the king safety up around 160.
Perhaps I've not seen a wide enough range of openings played yet.

My first efforts with both CM9000 and CM10th needed much revision before I came up with Enforcer and Paralyse. I can see the same thing probably happening here also.

I found very promising results for CM11 Glorfindel

Control: 4'/40+4'/40+4'/40

Code: Select all

1 Fritz 11 +14/-8/=18 57.50% 23.0/40
2 CM XI Glorfindel x64 t2 +8/-14/=18 42.50% 17.0/40
and

Code: Select all

1 CM XI Glorfindel 1111101110 8.0/10
2 The King 3.50 x64 0000010001 2.0/10

king is doing much better in the yugoslov attack (another kside pawnstorm opening), but in this case, it is legitimate to castle opposite sides. (and it comes out of the oppening already in opposite sides)

the k side black castle in caro/classical variation is not unheard of...it just has to be played just right.

I am currently testing one parameter, and will explore the k safety parameter next. Unlike you, i can not use my yoda like intuition to simultanesoulsy change ten parameters. I have to plod.

Alas, it must be nice to have a basement full of computers where you can focus on some key issue, and get a quick look at what is going on.

My comps are in the lounge and are used for CCRL testing, so you're not at a disadvantage in this case.

Hi,

Just wait and see....
Werner and i has now played around 400-450 games with the CM XI Sauron settings. Let's see in the next CEGT list what it gives compared to The King 3.50 default.
It could be a surprise :?:
