Re: [CCB]Division 6,Edition 7: 16 Engines!
I would like to pick Xpdnt instead of Now, to me the new version looks promising. So my picks are Counter, Pupsi, Xpdnt.

The reason is that swami already said in another thread that xpdnet won a division.
It means that I guess the following
Xpdnet

Xpdnt won a division in older edition-thats the fact, I said in that thread "It finished first in a division IIRC." note the use of the word 'IIRC'Uri Blass wrote:I also would like to pick Xpdnt instead of PupsiTony Thomas wrote:I would like to pick Xpdnt instead of Now, to me the new version looks promising. if you want to pick xpdnt here, no problem but just to make sure that I meant one of the older edition in that thread, and it doesn't mean that Xpdnt won this tournament.

Yes,Graham, you could analyze the strength of these engines with the computer by running short tournament, referring to the updated rating list, anything goes, no restrictions.Graham Banks wrote:No it's not cheating. It's called doing some checking out.Tony Thomas wrote:Swami, the way you suggest is kind of cheating, dont you think? Winning that way cant be all that fun.
There is no guarantee anybody will win with their picks.
If it's any consolation, I just look at the CCRL 40/40 list.![]()

4.f4 is not in rybkaII.ctg that has only 4.a3 and 4.Nf3
6.0-0 is also not in rybkaII.ctg and rybka does not like this move
Rybka prefers 6.a3 at depths 10-15
7.e5 is also not in rybkaII.ctg book and rybka prefers 7.d3
Re: [CCB]Division 6,Edition 7: 16 Engines!
I have a life outside of computer chess, mainly Romi and goat. It isnt very important for me to win this tournament, though I would like to. I do refer to my own rating list, but weird things happen in a tournament with only 30 or so rounds. For example many engines placed ahead of Romichess in your previous tournament. In a head to head match Romi would annihilate most of them. Swami, you put me in a dilemma with your Xpdnt post. I guess I better go back to my first guess. NOW, Counter, Pupsi. I mean how many times can you Counter wrong NOW with Pepsi.swami wrote:Yes,Graham, you could analyze the strength of these engines with the computer by running short tournament, referring to the updated rating list, anything goes, no restrictions.Graham Banks wrote:No it's not cheating.
