I have been kind of busy last few days, hence the reason for the short post. I havent had the computer time to play anymore matches, but I will post some results tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow, is always a day away.
Usually when you do not send or post results it is because, the results are not good for Romi. Or have you just been too busy?
CPU overheating has returned mike..so the match against Zeus is not finished. Score so far is 16-6 in favor of Romi.
Well, if you and Goat were not always making so much heat ...
Anyway, there may be a P3L afterall. Just in case P3k is a bomb, I have been trying to improve on the new ideas and smooth out a few bumps. It is looking very good.
Can you run an 80,000 game match in a single night?

<say this with Indian accent>Eighty multiplied by a thousand gives you 80000.<say this with Indian accent> I got the eighty, let me see what you got. Is Goat still fighting with the round house kick guy?

Vas can run 80000 games in one night on two quad core machines. Maybe he is the real 'round house kick guy'. Maybe he is really Chuck Norris. Maybe we should get with the program! I hope that Chuck, I mean Vas, releases his utility program that allows him to do that.

It is not possible to run that many games with my time control in one night on a single quad. May be he meant 8000, and I am sure he got more than 1 quad. It is also possible that he is playing those game in ten second matches.

I believe that
Vas does not use your time control.
We are talking about very fast time control.
"I can say that the evaluation of the latest Rybka is about 80 Elo better than in Rybka 2.3.2a, because the new version beats the old one by that amount in 3-4 ply search matches. This does not tell us the actual improvement in normal chess, because the search is slowed down by the new knowledge, but improved by Vas, so the real gain in normal play could be more or less than 80."
Another interesting note by larry:
"I have learned new things about chess myself from my Rybka work, so my own eval skill is not a constant!"

3 seconds per game.

Hi,
I have a question: whats the actual rating compared to the previous versions now?
and I have an info: Marc Lacrosse wrote a tool you can make 4 whole games in a minute. This was the fastest he got - so you can make over 5000 games a day on 1 PC, 20.000 on a quad and 40.000 on 2 Quads!
How about that?

I haven't had the time to check out Marc's utility package yet. Even 2000 games overnight would make a huge difference in the quality of each new release.
Who's rating list?
Tony had Romi at 2490 on his 1+1 list. NG9 was better than that one. The jury is still out on weather P3k is better than NG9 or not.
A longer time limit is anyones guess. CEGT (iirc) determined NG5 to be the best Romi that they have tested, just under 2400 (iirc). I think that NG6, NG8 and NG9 are all better than NG5. CCRL has only tested one Romi version at 40/4 and it is ~2470 and that version is quite old. That P3kLD (learning disabled) version ended up being way different from the actual P3k release, so we can not go by it's rating.
I hope that when CEGT, CCRL, WBEC and other results come in that P3k will be best. I am sure that it is better than P3j!

Ok Michael,
thanks for the answer!
So I hope I will find someone helping me testing
At the moment I am running tests with Alfil and with Zappa II.

Yes, it seems as if Alfil doesnt have much opposition in 4th division. Alfil falling in to 4th division due to bad luck ruined Romi's chance of winning the division, there by promoting directly. Also, many of the other engines were updated. Oh well, we shall see, if everything goes right, Romi has a chance.
