You must have never seen my rating list. I test as many weak engines as Oliver Deville and Leo Djiksman..

David I had posted a small test of Sage 3.27d. It only performed 30 points better than its predecessor in 1m+1sec, but from seeing its previous performances at WBEC tournaments, I have to say that Alfil, Horizon and Sage would be Romichess's top 3 competition.

Hi Tony

Yes, there is not a lot of strength improvement over the predecessor. But it now has EGTB implementation and a config file. I released 3.27d in a hurry, thinking i would be moving to a new house soon. I still may be moving soon. :-)

Meanwhile, i am testing a version of Sage that does seem to show quite a bit of strength improvement, at least in the early stages of testing.

Dave

Good luck in Leo's 4th division, Romi still doesnt use EGTB's, and it still attacks a lot. Attacking seems to help in fast time controls, but it defintely seem to be counter productive in long time controls when opponents have time to think.

Thanks for the good wishes. It will be tough, Sage doesn't ponder and Leo's 4th division is a "ponder on" tourney.

OK, the version of Smirfoglot that is on my website now also works with the Smirf bonus version. It automatically extracts the engine key from the SmirfGUI.ini file.

I added printing the PV as well, but somehow WinBoard_F seems to ignore it. Haven't figured out why; from the debug I can see it is printed...

In Arena I can see that these PVs are sent too late, the GUI gets them only after the engine´s move.
Try something like ´fflush(...)´ immediately after sending each PV ...
