Ok, thanks. I did a quick test of the first three you listed, and my compile was the slowest ...Ovyron wrote:I think that running the different compiles on the starting positions and comparing their nodes per second after a certain ply is a good way to measure their speed (all things being equal.)David Dahlem wrote:What's the best way to compare speed of different compiles?
On the Toga you downloaded, you should have:David Dahlem wrote:And what are the different builds of TogaII_3.1.2SE available?
TogaIIv3.1.2SE_P4_SSE2.exe
And there's a folder named "Additional Compiles by Denis Mendoza" (You need to unz7 it, tell me if you have problems doing it) with:
Toga_II_3.1.2SEp3.exe
and
Toga_II_3.1.2SEp4.exe
(These later compiles are only needed if the first one doesn't run on your computer)
And finally:
Toga Chekov by Denis P. Mendoza
However, I'd just suggest to trust the GUI on changing the settings, since that guarantees that you'll have the highest speed (I think.)
Have fun.
Toga312SE_P4_SSE2.exe
info depth 13 seldepth 32 time 8984 nodes 4212642 nps 468905

Toga II 3.1.2SEp4.exe
info depth 13 seldepth 32 time 9250 nodes 4212642 nps 455421

Toga II 3.1.2SEp3.exe

Toga312SE-Chekov.exe - My build

I'll replace my compile with Toga312SE_P4_SSE2.exe and restart the tourney. Toga should do better.
