Hi Werner,Werner wrote:Hi Wael,
I think you have been lucky. At the moment there is no new version available via the server...
That´s a pity...would like to have the engine too...
I installed Fritz 11 new from the CD and then went to the server.
At the moment there is nothing new and the link from Ted leads to the January 20th update...
regards
Werner
I guess so and I am surprised that the other users can't benefit from the new update.....

Thank you Ted. I was one of those incapable of getting updates directly with the program.
BTW, who is the charming boy at the board? You when a kid or one of your sons?

Re: A new updated version of Fritz 11 is available....
First let me say , I'm well aware that this minuscule sample doesn't even begin to qualify for the proverbial "drop in the bucket" , but nonetheless , maybe it will prick others interest to do more extensive testing..........
I've been playing some game/15 mins with Naum 3 vs Fritz 11 .......played on a ancient 1GHz machine , ponder off , Naum using Arena + HS Book. In the first 11 games , Naum led 7.5-3.5 , going +5 , -1 , =5 ......... Naum's only defeat could be disputed.... it was an EGTB draw @ 75 , but I don't use them , then in time pressure Naum misplayed @ 90 , and Fritz mated at 117. After Game 11 , I upgraded Fritz with the link provided. In the subsequent 8 games , Fritz has gone +2 , -0 , =6 ........ Of course , this could all be meaningless , but perhaps , potentially interesting.........
Here's an impressive win by Fritz (upgraded? version) over Naum 3 ... Both programs emerged from OB at move 13 , with Naum having a decent advantage. At move 30 , N = +.99 , F= -.67 , then the tide began to turn....

Fritz 11 is a strong engine. I think only Rybka 2.3.2a is slightly stronger. It also crushed Shredder 10 with the black pieces. Fritz was better positionally. It won a pawn and its pieces were better placed. Shredder had doubled pawns on the e file which blocked his bishop. Here's the game:

This will be the engine to close totaly the gap between it and the strongest Rybka version available now,as for the new Rybka 3,I guess no one can know for sure....

Indeed Ray,Hiarcs is also a very dangerous opponent, but my chess intuition tells me that Deep Fritz 11 is the one....Spock wrote:And Hiarcs 12 as well ?
