Hi Tony,

Yes, you are right in principle I think but that is the only way I can see to play some shorter games in the Shredder interface. I'm letting both progs play with the book from Shredder, shredder11.bkt, with reversed colours so that levels the chances and usually both sides will be in book for long enough to build up a time reserve.

Usually I just play longer games though, if at all. If both sides could play with an own book then getting the opponent early out of his book would be a definite advantage with such short time controls and even now a much weaker engine like Ancalagon can have more chances to win an occasional game under this control, if it falls into a line that is longer for his side, if it is a refutation line that would of course be the fault of the book for not blocking the other side from playing it, it happened in another .bkt book a few times but I have not seen that in commercial shredder11 from Sandro.
