I can get 60 by the following strategy

if there are 3 numbers success
If there are 4 numbers choose minimum as first number and maximum as second number.

If I try to change this strategy only in the last step and start with maximal in the 10th exercise I get 120.

Uri
choose highest number each time and get a nice high score
of 120

Hello Tony.
If letters and numbers were used with 3 each it would be better :)
This little game is to easy.

Best to you,

Gerold.

For those who enjoy such craziness, here is simple test which drives me bananas. This one does reward a lower age based on speed and accuracy.

I suggest you do the first one as a trial run.

On the first one I took my time answered all correct and got a 64. :x

My second score was 48. :(

On the third one I got 35. :D

"START" the game by pushing the button. The problem is that the calculation sign is concealed on the screen that is displayed.
The answer is [+] because it is [ 11?2 = 13 ] is [ 11 + 2 = 13 ]. You must fill in the blank with the correct sign {+,-,*,/}. Please push the sign button under the screen when you understand the answer. If the [+] button is pushed in the problem above, it becomes a correct answer. After the end of the 30 questions, the age of the brain is displayed. 20 years old is the target age for the brain.

Again test that has nothing to do with age

first test I got 27
second test I got 20

Note that rybka was analyzing at the same time and maybe I can get better result without rybka because it is possible that rybka caused my computer to perform slower.

I believe that smaller number than 20 is possible because somebody told me that he got 16 in the previous test and I believe that he did not lie to me(I got 20 with some errors there).

Here I never got 20 with errors but I believe that it is possible to play faster than what I did.

It seems after some tries that I simply cannot improve 20
and if I do one mistake I get 23(I guess that for every problem you get 1 point for solving it fast 2 point for solving it slower 3 points for solving it slower and 4 points for wrong solution).

I tend to agree with Fernando that the older I get the more difficult these speed tests become. I simply just don't react as fast as I used to, both physically and mentally.

I think that I could work on this one for a week and not get a 20.

I do not know if I responded faster when I was younger but I guess that if there is a difference the difference is very small.

I believe my speed is better than most people who are 20 years old
and I believe that the main factor in speed is not the age but the person
and if you take the same person at age 20 and 40 you are going to find smaller difference relative to taking different people at the same age.

10 out of 10 correct gives a mental age score of 20, so 20 is definitely the youngest this test goes. After you get the first 7 answers correct and it is showing numerals 0-9, it starts adding additional circles in locations where there was no number, trying to fool you. Not quite sure why it bothers, since at that point even if you get one wrong it still gives you a mental age of 20.

On a more serious note, I would think that most here play or have played a lot of chess in our day, so I would think that the age scores would be lower than the averages for any given age. That is, if you accept the fact that memory plays an important role in chess skill, which I think is a given.
It might be an interesting exercise to try the same test but with increasingly complex chess positions. Where people go wrong (i.e. exactly what pieces and where) could tell something about the player.

Did you get 10 out of 10 correct to check it?
The best that I could do is getting 7 digits correctly and I could get age of 20 in my best tries so I can imagine that people who could get more than 7 digits correctly could get better than 20.
