Missing the point. ok. lets all pay homage to Rybka and get it out of our system in this veritable programmers forum. Duh! pablo is rated what? guess what ! less than Rybka!! YET he still draws or perhaps win. BLAH BLAH BLAH time gui glitch etc. PAY attention. The ISSUE is that Pablo HIGHLIGHTS the one eyed blindness of computer programs. Namely closed positions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there . Did I emphazize that enuff? What would a grandmaster do if he studied anti computer chess.....eh wot? Wake up. Blast I am Sooooooooooooo tired of restating this singular issue.

It has a Time Buffer parameter that the operator didn't use. It's not the default because the default was optimized for the rating lists in where Time Buffer isn't needed. Over the internet in a server like Playchess you'd use Time Buffer because the server steals time from the engine but the engine isn't aware of it unless you switch it on.bob wrote:Aren't they sold as "one entity"??? It looks (to me) more of a time management issue in the engine.

Dependent upon the time control I'd think.Terry McCracken wrote: What do you think a GM could do with the technique?
Pablo has played some good games to get drawn positions now and then - one can't deny that.
