Octo = 8
Nov = 9
Dec = 10
There was a time when the year begun on march ...
If my memory from high school social studies (which is just 1 year ago for me) serves me, it is because two Roman rulers decided to put their names into the calendar (July and August I believe, Augustus and Juilius Caesar).
Are you running 64-bit Vista? Works very well for me and I was able to use 64-bit media with my (valid) 32-bit Vista Ultimate key. Performs very nicely indeed, and obviously I can run 64-bit chess engines and develop for x64.

The name of March comes from ancient Rome, when March was the first month of the year and called Martius after Mars, the Roman god of war.

Although March was originally the first month in the old Roman Calendar, January assumed that position beginning in 153 BCE when the two consuls, for whom the years were named, began to be chosen on January 1.[/quote]

Of course I'm using 64bit Vista. No point in using 64bit processors...4 of them without it.
Vista Sux!
XP64 would have been my choice if given the option.

Well all versions of Windows suck in some way - but what can you do? Linux is a reasonable alternative (using it at work now as the primary development workstation environment) but you still need to run Windows at home don't you... well you do if you like games.
