Thinker 5.3B Inert = a new era in computer chess !

Hi!
In chessmaster 11 thinker 5.3b as winboard engine shows variants ananlyzed. Is this a fake or true thinker- output?

Hi Peter,
you see the same when using Thinker engine inside Arena without pondering in the engine window. Thinker makes this output after the move and its from hash. So only depht, eval and first move are correct - rest of the moves are coincedently...

Übrigens, UCI- engines in chessmaster zu importieren, funktioniert zwar auch scheinbar, ist aber wohl doch nur ein fake, oder? Z.B. Rybka spielt da dann plötzlich schon sehr King- artig. Weißt du da auch was drüber?

Hallo Peter,
- nur wb engines können importíert werden (uci höchstens über polyglot)
- die Importfunktion ist buggy, sobald du einmal die eingebundenen wb engine editierst wird daraus eine Chessmaster engine (da kommen dann auch deine komischen Ausgaben her)
- ich benutze die Importfunktion von CM 10 und kopiere die Personality rüber ins CM11 Verzeichnis, dann kann man die auch editieren.
- wenn du Thinker nur importierst und nichts danach änderst, kannst du die engine auch so im Chessmaster verwenden.
PS: Rybka kann nicht funktionieren (nur uci) - Naum schon, weil auch wb!

Hi all !

I have-now- over 1.000 games with Thinker 5.3B Inert. Never I was so impressed from Rybka 1.0 beta !

An efficient and attractive play.
A little executable-only 67.000 bytes.
Playing through an (Wb2Uci) adapter (therefore a 20-30 ELO points loss ).

Only two explanations are possible:

1.or Thinker 5.3B Inert is a raptor in KN/s -therefore it reaches a very deep horizon of search ,or
2.this engine uses some new extensions (a dynamical evaluation, new pruning functions........).
Now Thinker 5.3 B Inert becomes a clear no.1 of the free chess engines.
The danger for Rybka comes from Thinker not from Fritz,Naum,Shredder,Hiarcs........

Oscar 2008 ( or Nobel ) in computer chess for Lance Perkins !

Danke! Das Handbuch vom CM im pdf- Format ist etwas mühsam zum blättern und außerdem diesbezüglich nicht so hilfreich wie du.
Ich hatte bei thinker nur das pondern editiert und tatsächlich kam er mir auch sehr wie King vor .
Nur noch eins: die Mentorfunktionen wie Mentorlines und game analyzis, sind die immer dieselbe King- engine oder bleibt da vielleicht doch auch die engine, die zuletzt gespielt hat, aktiv?
