You are playing against *****lito.
Oops

I suggest we stop the game :

- only few people want to play against that engine, especially in public.
- humans have no winning chances against that engine.

Thanks for the mini game,
Matthias.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

Do you believe that a forum full of super-computers and strong chess players cannot beat an engine running on a 900mhz netbook? your signature says "Aided by engines, GMs can be very strong." what better way to show contempt than to crush this beast, the forum has the advantage of white, and is 0.22 up at the moment.

Anyway, I respect your decision not to play against the Big Bad Bear, there may be some members who don't have a problem just playing a game against this monster, a bit like the violin player who takes on the devil in a violin playing contest, if that is the case then I hope you are able to watch the progress, enjoy the game, and cheer on the forum to victory.

My bad, I thought It would be interesting to see if a group of Chess players could work together to beat the strongest chess engine, I was wrong.

So to answer the question, who is afraid of the big bad bear, everyone is it seems.

I will wait a few more hours, if no moves are submitted, then this game is officially over.

Thanks to those that took part.

They are not afraid of playing the chess engine, they are afraid to get hunted by a secret society worshiping Rybka and it's maker....the sect followers will add them to a black list which is hocked in the main hall of their sect and they'll be cursed by all it's members....

The game lives to see another move, after 19h:20m of thinking, and 20.5 billion nodes, Big Bear has steadfastly stuck with the same move , and the same reply, and the EEE pc is starting to feel like toast. will it survive the game.... Black replies with the move

I prefer this line:
7. Kh1 Ng4 8. Ng1 Nxf2#

Just accelerating the unavoidable outcome
