That's great news, Alex. Seeing the number of appreciations for you in this thread, it seems you're on the right track, and we will certainly see the engine getting more stronger!naum wrote:Next thing I plan to try are some of the Robbo ideas, so there may be another free update (or new pay version if ELO increase is big).

This program is definitely worth having, especially because the upgrade is only 25 euros --- compare it to some "commercials" 150 elo points weaker than most of the top free programs such as Stockfish, for example or 80 points weaker than Spark. I have just ordered it and can hardly wait for March 20. Let's watch and see if I made a bad estimate of the new Naum's playing strength... On top of all that, have in mind the honesty and candor of the author.

Totaly agreed here unlike some other "famous" authors who are the absolute opposite regarding this issue....wolfv wrote:This program is definitely worth having, especially because the upgrade is only 25 euros --- compare it to some "commercials" 150 elo points weaker than most of the top free programs such as Stockfish, for example or 80 points weaker than Spark. Could you please mention what these Robbo ideas are that you are interested in? Thank you.naum wrote:Hi,
After finishing my 64-bit improvements test results indicated bigger gain then what I expected from just a speed increase (probably result of changed move ordering).
I don't think it's a rip-off. Hopefully tests by CEGT/CCRL will prove me right.
I have to admit I feel a bit guilty since I didn't work very hard on this version, but I found out from 4.1 that sending an update to hundreds of customers is a lot of work and this will pay for my time and narrow the update base only to people who are still interested in the engine.
Next thing I plan to try are some of the Robbo ideas, so there may be another free update (or new pay version if ELO increase is big).

Alex
