Everyone has been commenting frequently how Houdini is just a copy of Robbolito with changes.......manufactured to make it palatable to the masses. It is not so different. A spade is a spade. For example the frequency with which people say Rybka is Fruit has increased over time. There is a body of evidence that says that this is so. How then can it be any different that when things are copied verbatim in another sphere no one cares?. Is it because certain people out there are only concerned with one thing? You see it is in human nature that people want to be good at something......

Should the strength of an engine out way everything. It never has for me. I have no idea about you but if I were to guess, I would say that your favourite engine is BigLion.

People like computer chess for different reasons. The moist (I decided to leave the typo btw) wholesome reason I personally ever found was that I liked chess. I liked the game of chess ever since I read the book of the same name by Harry Golombek.

Those who seek to undermine that love will always fail. They can talk elo until the cows come home as far as I am concerned but if they show no love of the game itself at any level......I put them in the bucket rapid.

Michael puts them in the bucket here. Is that any different from what you might do to your average cloner?

Fact will always be fact and fiction will always be fiction.

Some people do this for love not money. Those that fit neither case probably do it because free means what it is you can take without being noticed.

Hello Christopher,

As I have said to Michael privately and publicly, I understand his considerable displeasure at what was done to his/your pages. It took effort, love and creativity - much like creating a chess engine I suppose - and it was given away for free.

Then it gets ripped without any acknowledgement and that is wrong.

I get that. I believe everyone gets that.

I have asked Michael and I will ask you.

Who suffers the most here?

In a twisted sort of way, isn't it the bad guys who win when he withdraws?

I am NOT trying to convince him otherwise, just pointing something out.

Later.
We have never cared who suffers......it is in fact my (and his) moderation philosophy......

We only care about the greater good. Hopefully it is a GUI good..... but we will take what comes.

I appreciate your intervention however they should know just what happens next. On this all of us agree. If they wanna fuck with someone they picked the wrong people.

We do what we do because we are interested. We dont do it because of some need to be noticed. There is no "ha ha" look at me here.........

The reason why most clones of everything are made....is to be noticed.

We state here and now that you have been noticed and that you are welcome in here anytime soon. Just to let us know what size of box you require on departure.

We can help. We are aware of what deadwood is.

Both ways work Roger. I just get less hassle than you do.

:)

The 3 seem stronger than BigLion, though I have never played enough games to comfirm it.

Hi,

According to their forum they do not care about copyrights. I should contact them :) They are not able to find the according posting (do you wonder ?) You can find it within seconds...

Looking at the way they build railways I don't:

Hi,

Take a look at their childish reaction when caught doing something wrong.
Why should Martin care to fix the Russian language issue if they just steal and ignore copyrights ?

Of course, I like Taktix and ArcBishop80, though I lack the time to teach them chess, now that I know better.
They basically know only the rules. :(
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.
