Hi Philippe,
I have a proposal (for Graham): because I shifted my focus away from computer chess, I wouldn't mind if either cheng demotes to D4 or better if it would be removed completely from D3, which would mean Philou would play grading matches and Glass would stay in D3.

Hi :-)

No problem, every thing is well, thank you :-)
D3 or D4 is good anyway :-)

There are some considerations that I always make before finalising the fields for each division for the next series.

I always look at new versions of engines to see whether or not they should be promoted to a higher division.
If there are completely new engines appear, I try to find the right division for them to play in.
If the latest version of an engine is more than two years old, that engine becomes ineligible for the next series, unless a new version is publicly released (Chronos and Sungorus this time round).

I usually stick to the rule though that no matter what, the engine that finishes top of a division always gains promotion.
Usually, the engine that finishes last gets relegated, but there are exceptions (especially when engines drop out of their division or those above). Taking that into account, Glass will likely remain in Division 3 and Philou will likely get a playoff chance.

Cheers,
Graham.

PS - thanks to all of the engine authors who take an interest in these tournaments. Although I'd run them regardless because I enjoy them, your involvement always means something special to me.
