That was a very quick hack of Prédateur, Ralph, so the Eval is very simple: I just reversed Prédateur's eval's sign. And as you can see this is NOT the best solution. But I promise the next Moron will be far worse!Ralph Stoesser wrote:Not so easy to create a moronic engine that is able to lose against the strongest human morons. How does the evaluation function look like if I may ask? It seems one needs serious material advantage to be able to force the opponent to check mate. So don't throw it away too fast please. Nice games btw!!!

Re: Moron 1.0 (the real one!) released (Win64 binary)
Since engine without a bug report is incomplete, I send the following game. As it turns out, it's too easy to force Moron to draw. Therefore I ask for Moron 1.01, with draw score equal to unwanted checkmate score.

even if it started as a joke, I really like the idea of creating the worst possible engine and I love the creativity and adaptivity of the people who manage to lose anyway. it's not so easy as it sounds.

Julien, Moron has already been ported. My coming release has a beginner level that only uses the move generator to play chess. it uses the current time to index into the list of legal moves. So far, I haven't been able to lose to the engine in less than 50 moves.

Tim, Moron even manages to lose against a random-mover like Brutus RND.kinderchocolate wrote:JuLieN wrote:That was a very quick hack of Prédateur, Ralph, so the Eval is very simple: I just reversed Prédateur's eval's sign. Do you have the game? Dammit, we need to have a match of 10, the loser will be the champion.

Re: Moron 1.0 (the real one!) released (Win64 binary)
Hi,JuLieN wrote:Here's the one and only Moron UCI Chess engine. The challenge with this engine is to lose against it.
