Thanks Mark, very interesting match, a real duel between the Titans !!

I wonder about the current YouTube LIVE ?!
Are the kns values of the engines falling down , can you check please about there is difference in the kns speed with/without LIVE?
I wonder also, for providing the current LIVE, do you use any external program (in the background)?

I am asking you these questions, because if the speed is not effecting, then maybe I can run/use also YouTube LIVE

Best,
Sedat
I had to play around with the settings of the encoder. My bandwidth is only 1mbs uploading. But I wanted HD resolution, much nicer to view.

I got the encoder to use less then 10% cpu power by setting the encoder for 720p minimum encoding, and clicked off High performance encoding in the preferences of the encoding software.

As you do not need much encoding for a chess gui window. As the only movement is the time display, evaluation text, and the chess board.

I don't have a powerful system in todays terms, very average now. So far it is working well. Small CPU foot print, and uploading less then 1Mbs to run the live feed.

Hmm... personally I don't prefer using LIVE encoders for running engine matches, a few years ago I tried those encoders and as far as i remember the engines performed with lower kns values...

For example, during my LIVE SCCT Book Tournaments (for Maximum Engine Performance) for broadcasting, I used external PC and webcam via Stickam site

Best,
Sedat
I would not let that stop you, if you want to broadcast your games. You can always test with less cores or even 1 core with ponder on or off. And not effect the program at all.

Many people only test with one core, and many rating list rate the programs using one cpu core.

There is nothing wrong in testing with less cores, or you can get a more powerful CPU with more cores. If I am only getting hit less the 10% on the encoder foot print with my 4 year old system.

The encoder foot print would be almost nothing on a state of the art CPU....
Thanks for your useful information

Hi Mark, I also had to create another new YouTube link for my live tournament, the original one eventually showed the video as "no longer available", despite the YouTube control room and WireCast reporting that streaming was still ongoing and live.

Is there a time limit or something that applies to a live broadcast?

(I tried my second time with DVR capabilities disabled, maybe that has some effect, although the original broadcast went well beyond the 12 hour DVR buffer limit before it was made unavailable)

I am not sure, since this was my first test. My first link lasted over 28 hours, and when I got home to check. The encoder was locked up. I don't know if this was due to the encoder, or You tube.

The chess GUI never stopped working so I just made another link.

If the timeout is over 1 day I can live with that.

My current broadcast link has been going for 1 day 1 hour and 40 mins. So we will see if the link stays good, or crashes again. Should know in a few hours.
