The only change I'd like to see is this: when it gets to the Superfinal, if both engines are chess960 capable, then play it. More exciting chess, no arguments about equality of openings etc and the possibility of a lower draw rate as well :D But if cutechess still can't support playing the same chess960 position reversed sides, then that is a negative for sure.

Not me.
Stick to chess for chess tournaments and FRC for FRC tournaments.

I would be fine with that, but I don't see why the draw rate would go down since they aren't using opening books.
Deasil is the right way to go.
