Hi Peter,
I am thinking ... what do yo do if you have the problem with the high move-average again in the new tournament. Updates during round 1 are possible and if I made an update and the engine version comes also with a high move-average I have a problem.
So I create a new rule:
*** A new rule ***
After round 04: Engine with highest move-average is disqualificated for more rounds = 44-1
After round 05: Engine with highest move-average is disqualificated for more rounds = 43-1
After round 06: Engine with highest move-average is disqualificated for more rounds = 42-1
- 41 engines remain until the end of the tourney = 13.120 games
- highest move-average (wins & draws added together) = relevant for a disqualification
The reason the tournament starts with 44 and not 41 engines.
I will not have the engines with a high move average for "win & draws" in combination in my tourney. So on an other PC I played a simulation from the new still-running tourney with 3+1. I am very sure which engines are out after round 06. Not Slow, not Revenge and not Texel. But you are right, the draw-average from Texel is also very high.

Clearly lesser as 100 ... and for 99% of all engines clearly lesser as 100 with resign=off.
And not 14 times over 100 with all the boring long games in clear-draw position!

Move average goes to 89 (reasons are 4 engines and the absolutly normal "move-average" goes higher).
Means, higher as 86-87 moves for games with resign = off.
107 moves for 14 engines in a tourney in the year 2023!!
