I thought that Bh5+ was a very strong reply for white, to fxe(??), and that castling first would get the same exact position, [but castled] if white then plays exf,

Or am I thinking of the wrong diagram?

I vote 11...fxe. No reason to allow 11...oo 12 f4. 11...fxe Bh5+ is a cute trick but after 12...g6 13 Qd1 (13 Qg4 is worse I think since after the black queen moves the white bishop must be sacrificed) I think black is just fine.

I too first feared that check, but it leads to white loss of material, without adequate compensation.

0-0. The pseudo aggresive move Bf6 could be considered but 0-0 is safer.

The problem with Bf6 is Qh5+ if g6 Qh6 and we can not castle, if Bf8 after Qh6 (maybe trying Bg7) Qf4 and again we can not castle
