I see. The forum is a shoot em up games (hat tip, Hgm) where you fight, crash in flames, spawn and continue in cycle until the guy(s) you don’t like are got rid of. Exact cycle which the moderation team has resolved to put a stop to. It’s immature, its wholly negative, it’s narcissistic and it’s not on computer chess topic. WGAF who you do and don’t like?

Affirmed the viewpoint that stopping the election cycle (continuation of narcissistic rage by other means) as a means to stopping the whole elimination cycle of others is correct.

By my count, there are three straw men (link) in the above quoted post.

You want to “moderate” the forum? Okay, prove your suitability. Never seen it done yet.
Is there any time line for until when whoever would want to be a candidate shall put a DM to whom?

Given that you were not in zugzwang, a null move would have been the better option.

Ed’s concept document gives seven days from its publication for candidates to put themselves forward. As far as I can tell there’s nothing standing in the way of that document getting published (there’s no majority on the FG to stop the process moving forward).

Yes, the start-up phase for the election has been ugly, I hope the election itself will be more civilized.

I will make the needed preparations.

Could the "Questions for FG about the organisation of the elections" thread be unlocked, please?

Maybe they should slow down a little or take a little break: there's a risk of making a mistake or burning themselves out if they keep on working at this "greased lightening" pace.
