Hi Werner !

What do you mean ?

A lot of people using Homer with polyglot and reporting no problems so far. (WBEC/RWBC/Dirty Dozen/ChessWar/....)

Please give me some examples.

Hi,
Homer plays without no problems as a winboard engine, didn't manage to defeat it though, but next time when we meet,it will not be so lucky 8-)

Hi Daniel,
this is the result of my bad english

a) Homer runs fine with polyglot inside ChessGenius
b) Homer has problems with the driver vers. 1.1 from Roland Pfister (here I could not play a series of games) inside ChessGenius GUI
c) Homer did not move inside ChessGenius when I tried to use it as a winboard engine

all ok now?

Hi Werner !

Don't worry, my english is crappy as well...

Thanks for your correction. Should i take a look to the problems with Roland's adapter or do you think we could ignore it ?
How many people using this adapter instead of polyglot ?

Best,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,
I don´t think its necessary to have a look at the (old) adapter from Roland Pfister only for ChessGenius as you can use polyglot in the same way fine. Only on the website from Eduard Nemeth are some helpfiles how to use wb or uci inside ChessGenius. He advice to use the 1.1 Adapter from Roland.

On the other way - Homer is a wb engine too - but its not possible here to run it as wb-engine inside ChessGenius (only as uci). With other wb/uci engines I had no problems. The reason is perhaps which command Homer need to switch to wb?
This is also a very small problem cause only 1 or 2 people try to run Homer inside ChessGenius GUI

Hi Werner !

It would be nice if you can run Homer as WB engine and send me homer.log ? The rest can be done via E-Mail ;)

Leave the personal issues Daniel and take a close look at the games I posted as you won't recieve such games everyday against humans....

eh ?

Why do you think it was for you ?

It's just in general. Nobody wants to see a big log and maybe tech-talk about bugfixing. Thats all.

Are you not interested in seeing the difference between lower level chess and higher level chess, by computer programs?

Is it not nice to be able to watch how higher levels win games, and avoid defeat?

Anyway, the difference between 2500 vs 2900 comp comp, I wonder if it is similar to a 400 difference between humans. But even if it HAS to be because that is the meaning of elo, would it not be more comfortable to your mind to say that it is only a few draws but not any victory against Rybka, (which might suggest that rybka has some flaw? Human are different because humans lose by errors, of the type which computers do not make....but draws are ok, and preferebly they are because of rybka having an upper hand but simply unable to capitalize).
