Hi Steve,
As an example. No. I do not know the number of eligible voters. It is not clear what "active members for at least three months" actually means. Perhaps it means one post? I do know that 161 of the 955 members have joined since 20th May so that that reduces the possible number of voters to 794, with some 150 of those never having posted so are automatically ineligible. That gives an absolute maximum of about 640 or so, with a not insignificant number of those having left but still shown as registered. And it is very likely that many of those with between 1-9 posts browse CCC/CTF only infrequently and would not be aware of an election. Further, many of those who are aware would not vote because if infrequent visitors they would feel they had no basis on which to vote.

OK
IIRC ...all prior elections held in the old forums(before the move to the new software) had only one simple voter requirement .
namely.. that a member had to be registered for at least 6 months to be eligible to vote
seemed alot easier to understand then these somewhat nebulous requirements
but i guess there must be some sort of software installed for the vote to be immediately recognized as eligible or not eligible and the vote immediately rejected

That's difficult, 180 would be my best guess.Steve B wrote:14 additional members have limped into the voting booths since yesterday

still 180-200 is too low a number for computer chess community.

I would vote if the damn thing would let me. I guess I don't have the "minimum" number of posts. Does this one put me over the top?
One would think that an active reader and occaisional poster would be allowed to voice an opinion through the democratic process as well as the motor fingers.

you have been a member here since March 07
i would like to know exactly what the voting requirements are
its too nebulous..its obviously the fact you have not posted much but you do have 15 posts and you probably have logged on alot
