What is in a name? Does this mean all Christians must use their baptism name for example? Who is to judge what is a legitimate name? Do we have a situation here where some are setting standards of orthodoxy that all non-conformists must be rooted out? Beginning to sound like the days of the Inquisition!
Many people use different names for different reasons. The use of a "Nom de Plume" has been long established, particularly in literature and matters textual. Usually the name has some connexion with the subject matter. Provided the name does not cause offence then why is there an issue? In English law you can use whatever name you deem fit hence many people have multiple alias names. It is also possible to change one's name by deed poll for legal purposes.
This issue has been raised here before and sometimes I wonder whether certain people are losing or have lost their sense of priority and humour. Chess should be fun too, not just serious!
Should I change my name to Albert Kitchener to make everyone happy but still have no relationship to the name I use for non chess computing matters?
People are who they want to be or call themselves and that freedom should not be removed!
Could this be deemed an infringement of human rights?
Perhaps much more serious thought should be given to the implications of any such actions suggested here.

Less than 24 hours to go in the poll

With less than 24 hours to go in the poll, please cast your vote on this seemingly contentious issue.

To vote would condone the poll and the contention of peoples freedom to choose the name by which they wish to be known, an action that is intolerable in the free world.
