Ok, I didn't see anything wrong or unusual with the game, only that white left book earlier. So, my suggestion would be to try a book with more wilder lines, that will decrease your drawing rate, but will increase your losing rate.
(I've realized that after all the trouble for posting a game, my input wasn't helpful, sorry.)

Okay, I will try a wider range of opening lines and see how my results happen. I'll keep you posted. Thanks.

1.so...the game is posted by him already using my idea...betcha it will take you one minute..hahaha!!! go ahead and mess around with it...GS wrote:Ahem his stats say: almost always draw against every one, no matterswami wrote:2 words: Nitpickingly Pedantic![]()
when I asked him for stats on win/loss/draw against his opp etc its a shortcut to the answer...instead some chose the other time consuming method, getting him to post the pgn by helping him out step by step on how to...and finally studying the games, starting an engine in analysis mode and confirming the moves etc...
Well,I think Ulysses will finally get him to post the games by politely helping him out...
how weakfine that helps a lot...
Typical user errors need one minute of 'scrutinizing' if a pgn with
score/depth is available and the 'scrutinizer' is experienced.

2.You believed he won't post any game...he has finally posted it...any 'optimist' would have expected the positive results by helping out a 'newbie'
3.If he had posted the stats/opponent played alone(still he needs to provide the name of opponents/results,that would be enough!), it would have taken a layman(for that matter anyone else!) a couple of seconds to identify whether there is an error in it...which has its advantage, and self acclaimed so called experienced scrutinizers are never needed...
instead of nitpicking/almost always finding fault with others, anyone could have used the simple reasoning/logic...
PS:discussion is closed...the game is posted already...I've had enough of this...to save my TIME

Re: Too many of my games are drawish
Here's something that you may try: Make a copy of the book with a different name (so the original book remains intact), and then use this renamed book. Then after every draw you have, delete the last move played from book, from the book.
This is with the hope that the engine will play something different, since what was already played seems to lead to a draw. After many games, only game deciding lines should be on the book, and this shall decrease the drawing rate.

That's one idea to try out the wilder lines, does it seem to you that both opponents are Rybka when you go through analysis mode?maybe it most likley is..as I haven't seen the game yet..slightly weaker version of Rybka(older 1X series or old 2X series..) against the newer ones also ends in draw most of the time in playchess.Ovyron wrote:Ok, I didn't see anything wrong or unusual with the game, only that white left book earlier. Good to see you helping him out politely...

Re: Too many of my games are drawish
I had to input the moves one by one because his posted game is not GUI friendly, and I didn't save it. But it wouldn't surprise me if both opponents were Rybkas.swami wrote:That's one idea to try out the wilder lines, does it seem to you that both opponents are Rybka when you go through analysis mode?
So, I add another suggestion: Stop using Rybka, and try another strong engine like Zappa Mexico or Shredder 11. This will for sure decrease your drawing rate, but don't be surprised if you cannot win games anymore.

I see...Thats the good suggestion indeed to check if there's nothing wrong with his hardware etc, he simply over estimated RybkaOvyron wrote:I had to input the moves one by one because his posted game is not GUI friendly, and I didn't save it. Not all games are Rybka. I did expect games to be drawn against stronger opponents such as Rybka but when playing less stronger opponents other than Rybka and with less hardware i was surprised that i was still drawing. Thanks.

But still we need the complete stats of win/loss/draw against which opponents etc(in playchess, they use Fritz 11,Deep Shredder too which is not so weak compared to Rybka)to come into conclusion, few games are not enough to judge the behaviour of the engine(as you can see from the game you posted that others find nothing wrong in it)ChessAddict wrote:Not all games are Rybka. May I ask you what your playchess id is? maybe that would help me find the record of opponents played/ their engine and hardware etc
