i know you don't only testing Tornado only, there are much more engines, but you prefer and playing thausend of games from the top engines only, and you give the strongest engines more possibility to play better with using the hardware it can bring (x64 , 4cpu...), its then easy to say the rybka is the strongest, but other engine you don't give it to using much as possible and those ones cant get more strength in the list.

by other i know you all testers not doing this for "just for fun" and not for the authors to improve his engine.

i am doing also Tornado "just for fun", but i want to improve my engine much as possible i can, if i found a bug then i update it, if i found an small improvent then i updated, if i implement a new future, also update.

Tornado is not only for you are testing, this is for all people who enjoy with my engine :)

everybody can download it if he will, if not it is his problem.

of course they are much better engine available but many engines are not only by the strength different, some have more features, and many of this engines have other playing styles.

have a good night !

Pass the popcorn. :)

I think there is confusion as to the purpose of the testing groups. They are not beta testers for programs that are works in process. Testing groups are testers of finished products only, and not testers of programs still in the development phase. A program in development should be tested by beta testers (volunteers) and by the authors. When it has been through the wringer, then and only then should it be released to the public and to the testing groups.

i am my beta tester by my self !

testing everytime if the new beta version make any improvement, i dont have any other beta testers, then i release the new one, or if its a really important bugfix, otherwise i skip many version at my home stay.

you understand the version numbers ? 3.21a <-> 3.42 ?? where is the between numbers ? they are not good versions, then i not release they.

and i am not really interested on any testers, he can do what he want, and i am doing what i think and if this make me funny, then i continue, otherwise i give up chess programming.

if i have no motivation or no time, then i paused longer time , that is a chance for the testers playing more games for stable versions ;)

I'll help you out a little. Tornado 3.42 seems to have a bug regarding when it is a good idea to play a move that allows an en passant capture. See the following two games.
